Food Drive in Dallas

The 3rd Church of Christ, Scientist, in Dallas hosted a wonderful food drive event last weekend. It featured inspirational talks by two Christian Science Lecturers and lunch, all the while collecting non-perishables for a local food bank. They were also kind enough to invite us perform some of our music, an offer which we happily accepted. We feel very blessed and grateful to have been part of the afternoon – big thanks to them! It was very well organized with much love and attention paid to the details, including a dedicated snowcone...

Let There Be Light – time4thinkers

A big THANK YOU to the Weekly Musician and all of the wonderful artists and music that they spotlight! We are privileged to be included among that group and wanted to direct your attention to last week’s post of our song Let There Be Light. We wrote it last year and it’s a setting to Mary Baker Eddy’s poem Love, known also by its first line “Brood o’er us”. Listen to the song and a mini-interview on the Weekly Musician » Also, if you’d like to have this music for yourself or your church, you can find...

Another Wonderful Sunday at TMC

We are so grateful every single time we perform at The Mother Church! It is such a wonderful and uplifting place to attend services and perform music. You can listen below to our cell phone recording of the solo from the evening service that day, which was held in the original edifice. If you have enough bass in your speakers you should be able to hear Bryan Ashley come in with us on the organ at 2:20. THANK YOU to all of you who tuned in already and sent us so many wonderful...

Performing a New Solo at TMC Next Week!

Hello Wonderful People, In one week from today, March 1st, we will be performing the solo at The Mother Church in Boston. It’s always an exciting trip, but this time we’re especially pleased to be singing a new composition: to complement the subject of the Lesson Sermon, Christ Jesus, we’ll be sharing our new setting to Mary Baker Eddy’s poem, Christmas Morn. It has a celebratory melody over a rich piano texture, and as always when writing music for Mary Baker Eddy poems we attempted to shed a fresh perspective on the...

Concert at Lynn House

We had a wonderful time playing at Lynn House (a Christian Science nursing facility in Alexandria, VA) last night, covering many songs from Soulshine as well as a few new settings to Mary Baker Eddy poems that we’ve written in the past couple of years. The cookies afterwards were great, the crowd was fantastic, and we can’t wait to do it again! Thank you Lynn House for having us.       This slideshow requires...

Organ Version – Father of Lights

Having completed an organ scholarship program earlier this summer, Jay is eager to make organ versions of our solos and has just finished the first one! Father of Lights is now available for organ and voice in two keys – visit our Watchfire inspirational music page for more for information. This great organ scholarship program is offered yearly by the Potomac Organ Institute, and we are very grateful for the opportunity, as well as the care and dedication of Jay’s organ teacher Jeff...
